Welcome to the Montgomery Development Education Centre (MDEC) website. MDEC is an Aberdeen based organisation, covering the whole of the North-East of Scotland. We are the education section of Aberdeen for a Fairer World (formerly the Third World Centre). The Centre is part of the International Development Education Association of Scotland (IDEAS). This is a network of over 40 organisations and individuals involved in Development Education and Education for Global Citizenship/Sustainable Development Education across Scotland.

Applications now open for Global Learning Partnerships 2016 cohort

 

Global Learning Partnerships is an 18-month personal and professional development opportunity for practitioners from the North East of Scotland, delivered by The Wood Foundation in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Council and Inspire Educate and Empower Rwanda (IEE http://ieerwanda.org/)

Accredited by GTC Scotland, Global Learning Partnerships is designed to enhance your knowledge and understanding of global citizenship and Learning for Sustainability.  Successful applicants form a Cohort, working together to investigate what it means to be a global citizen, and demonstrate best practice, becoming a Global Teacher within your school community and beyond, through a number of intensive training sessions and a four week placement living and working in Rwanda during the summer of 2016.
