Welcome to the Montgomery Development Education Centre (MDEC) website. MDEC is an Aberdeen based organisation, covering the whole of the North-East of Scotland. We are the education section of the Aberdeen Third World Centre. The Centre is part of the International Development Education Association of Scotland (IDEAS). This is a network of over 40 organisations and individuals involved in Development Education and Education for Global Citizenship/Sustainable Development Education across Scotland.

New Fair Trade Project 2010 for Schools

We are running a new Fair Trade project from Sept - Dec 2010, which is offered to all schools free of charge.  The project offers excellent opportunities for Curriculum for Excellence development and whole school activity, as well as a chance to join up citizenship, Eco-Schools, Rights Respecting School Award, health education, sustainable development and enterprise. 

New Resources for Scottish Education Supplement

The IDEAS network have produced a supplement to their Resources for Scottish Education Catalogue.  It contains reviews by teachers of new resources and is organised according to the levels in Curriculum for Excellence.  To download a copy click on the image below, or hard copies are available for the Centre.
