Continuing Professional Development
For teachers in 2011-12 we bring you an exciting range of courses to support you as you develop planning and activities, content and skills, values and attitudes, and assessment through Curriculum for Excellence within varied global-local contexts.
N.B. Aberdeen twilight courses are also open to other teachers e.g. from Aberdeenshire schools to attend. Just contact Anna Bennett as indicated. The cost for a teacher from an area other than Aberdeen is only £20 for a twilight or half day course.

GETTING STARTED WITH GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Explore the various aspects of global citizenship - critical literacy, making local-global connections, developing respect and positive values, reflecting on and assessing learning, addressing stereotypes etc through global learning activities set in contexts suitable for primary school. A wide range of resources will be referred to and available at the session for borrowing.

A' ADAM'S BAIRNS? - Exploring Equality and Diversity in Scotland - past and present.
Another chance to attend the very successful twilight exploring this new Scottish resource suitable for Upper Primary, Transition and Early Secondary. Lots of interdisciplinary applications when developing new modules of work and the chance to take part in a Scottish pilot using the resource and assessing the impact on the knowledga and understanding, and values and attitudes of your pupils.

We also offer our range of CPD courses directly to schools and clusters
If you wish to hold a school / cluster based course for your own staff please contact us . Courses can be based on overall global citizenship or focused to target e.g. sustainable development education, fair trade and trade aspects, UNCRC and rights and responsibilities...etc
All courses include resource recommendation and a selection of suitable resources is available to borrow at each event.
Minimum number for a course is usually 8-10 participants. Maximum number 24 - 30 participants depending on course and location.
